Google Pixel 8 Pro starts at $999 and includes a 2,400 nit display, a new 48 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a complimentary Pixel Watch 2.

The Pixel 8 Pro is now available for pre-order, after today's launch event. Google has also unveiled the Pixel 8 and Pixel Watch 2, as well as refreshed the Pixel Buds Pro. Google has made several modifications to the Pixel 8 Pro compared to its predecessor, including a vow to provide 7 years of software upgrades.

Furthermore, this year's Pro is the first to be available with 1 TB of storage. Regrettably, this appears to be true only in North America. European and UK editions, for example, top out at 512.

GB, which only equals the Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 7 Pro. Nonetheless, Google has added a larger 5,050 mAh battery with 30 W charging capabilities, as well as its Tensor G3 chipset with Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.

Moreover, the Pixel 8 Pro has a peak brightness of 2,400 nits, up from 1,500 nits last year. It's worth noting that this year's Pro has a lesser resolution panel (2,992 x 1,344 pixels) than its predecessor, but it still has a greater pixel density than the iPhone 15 Pro Max (489 PPI vs. 460 PPI). In addition, Google has secured the 6.7-inch OLED display with Gorilla Glass Victus 2, more information on which can be found on Corning's website.

On top of that, Google has improved the Pixel 7 Pro's 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera to a 48 MP model with a 125.5° field of view, 0.8 m pixel width, and an f/1.95 aperture. The Pixel 8 Pro appears to maintain the other camera sensors of its predecessor, albeit with adjusted aperture sizes and a somewhat reduced output resolution for its front-facing camera. The Pixel 8 Pro is currently available in Bay, Obsidian, and Porcelain color variants for the following prices, all with a free Pixel Watch 2 for pre-orders:

  • · 128 GB - US$999
  • · 256 GB - US$1,059
  • · 512 GB - US$1,179
  • · 1 TB - US$1,399 (Obsidian exclusive)
